Settling in meetings

For your child to feel happy being left with me they need to have already got to know me and to feel comfortable in my home by the time you have to go back to work. I work with parents to make sure we do the right amount of settling in for your child before their start date

After the initial interview with parents, I usually try to arrange 4-5 settling in meetings during which your child stays with me, gradually, for longer periods. Gradually we move up to a half a day and then finally, a full day.

You should allow 2 -3 weeks for settling in. But it can sometimes take longer if illness gets in the way, e.g. if your child develops a bad cold or cough and isn’t up to coming round.
